Bringing client stories to life with film

We love helping our clients bring their brands to life. What better way than turning great stories into films? After all, great stories bring new clients.

We captured Zafiro Homes talking about their experience with Secure Trust Bank. They spoke of the impact the lending service had on building their business. This is now used across their website and social media channels. Which is great for new prospects and introducers.

We all love stories, telling them or hearing them; we’re surrounded by stories. Stories bring new clients because people respond to stories about people. Every referral begins with a positive recommendation, a story of how you helped a client. That’s one referral, from one client. What if we could capture that story and show it to a much larger audience?

“Real people respond to stories about real people.”

What would a customer’s story look like?

The Hero’s journey

We know what questions to ask when interviewing your clients. We then edit this and create a proper narrative for the film. If your one, or two minute film can tell a complete story it will engage well with your audience. The film puts your client at the centre of the narrative, they’re the hero of their own story. That’s the story to tell – the Hero’s journey.

Think about your client’s journey to you; Who they are. What need led them to you? How did they find you? And then, how did this improve their situation?

Case studies work because potential clients can relate to a situation like theirs. Especially when told by someone who is just like them. This reinforces your company’s credibility and the benefits of working with you. Video case studies include more information than mere words can convey. We humans use body language and intonation to communicate as much as we do with words. Videos add a level of authenticity that is hard to match with the written word.

Watch some of these videos and you’ll see how this is just like a referral anecdote. It’s not a testimonial or review – it’s a real story of how you made a positive impact for the client. Film has a reality that other media often fail to match; you can see it’s real people, with real stories. This kind of content is much more trustworthy than written testimonials or reviews.

The power of short

When well told these short videos can impart a lot of information. Videos are compatible with multiple platforms and devices. Internet users may have neither the time or inclination to read a long article. That’s why short videos with compelling messages are so popular. YouTube to TikTok, this is how Next-Gen users are consuming most content.

60% of all internet traffic is video streaming, a trend that continues year-on-year.

Videos need to be part of your brand toolkit. Yes, there are many channels available, old and new, to target your audience. But, omit video channels and you could cut you off from a huge pool of potential prospects.

A very special case (study)

Independent financial advisors Ascot Lloyd wanted to develop a new campaign. This would focus on a collection of heart-warming true stories. The stories were all set against the backdrop of the Covid-19 pandemic. At the time we were all in lockdown and so face-to-face video interviews were not possible. How else to tell these stories?

What we created was an illustrated and interactive story book, with the title ‘Here to help’. We’re very proud of the finished product, which has enjoyed great success. Take a look.

Videos are an important part of your brand toolkit. But they are not the only path to take; sometimes limitations drive innovation.
