Zen and the Art of Website Development
Ewan has a job that is complex at times. It’s one with a steep learning curve, requiring daily problem solving. That makes his constant aura of calm all the more impressive. His job is to support the development and maintenance of all our client websites. Ewan joined as a junior developer, to learn as much as he can about development best-practice.
Front-end WordPress development, Javascript interactivity, PHP and CSS … And oh-so-many other baffling initialisms and acronyms. That’s the job. There’s no doubt about it, Ewan is a very clever man. The goal of a developer is to interpret design to create a functional website. It must also be accessible, secure and blisteringly fast to load. We set high standards.
Since coming to PLOTT the growth in Ewan’s skill has been impressive. He now has several full-scale WordPress developments under his belt. As for the rest of us — we enjoy his quiet calm. It’s all very zen.
I do what I do because I’m fascinated by how code and design have the potential to really come together and create something meaningful and artistic. The mix of logic, creativity, and problem solving is something that oils my gears which ultimately keeps my productivity high.
