Brand Focus: Celebrating 30 years of Macbeth with a rebrand

Macbeth is driven by a passion for delivering independent advice backed by a truly outstanding, client-focussed service. They are a Chartered and award-winning company with everything they do underpinned by a professional culture.

This has led to Macbeth becoming one of the fastest growing independent insurance and financial businesses in the Thames Valley. 

So we were excited when long-time PLOTT friend and Macbeth’s Marketing Director, Millie Smith got in touch. Millie had come to us because Macbeth wanted their brand to reflect the company’s evolution over the years and to help them celebrate 30 years in business.

PLOTT gets to work

We began by running a brand workshop for Macbeth, during which we spent time delving into Macbeth’s beginnings and company culture, their past and their future plans, their people and their service. Why they exist! This is where we always start, and for good reason. Understanding the brand is the only way to properly represent it, it’s the key to everything that follows.

We also took along our wonderful illustrator Sabina Gran to do an on-the-spot graphic recording to capture all the highlights from the day with the team. This provided a great memory of the day and is proudly displayed in the Macbeth offices for the team and clients.

The old brand didn’t reflect how the world has changed since Macbeth was formed 30 years ago. Macbeth wanted the new brand to be in line with the times and to emphasise that they are, first and foremost, a people business.

The brand identity

PLOTT got to work on the brand identity, taking the logo through a process of evolution to create something meaningful, vibrant and modern while still retaining a link to what had come before. Before we could begin work on the new Macbeth website we spent time reworking their key messaging and company strapline. The end result is a fresh look for their high-performance website which we built from the ground up. It’s more secure, accessible and faster and looks terrific on desktop computers and mobile phones.

We have since updated their new brand across their marketing collateral, including: letterheads, brochures, email signatures, business cards, etc. It has been thrilling to work on Macbeth’s full rebrand project. 

The aim of both the video and website was to deliver Macbeth’s key messaging and to introduce the new brand. Macbeth cares about their clients’ worlds and gives principled advice and we wanted that to really come across. 

It’s safe to say that the rebrand project has been a huge success and we can’t wait to continue to work with Macbeth as time goes on. We’re currently working on phase 2 of the website and helping them with further marketing collateral to ensure everything is consistent.
